Quick fix for streaking PG-210 cartridge

After about 10 refills my pixma 495 started streaking on random pages to the point of being unreadable.

I suspected the sponge inside was clogging. Injecting ink deeper or into different locations didn't change the situation.

I covered the printhead with tissues, kissed the injection hole and blew hard into it, forcing ink through the sponge and out of the printhead.

No more streaks!

I've printed something like 1700 pages on the same cartridge. Loving this pixma 495 !!

The MP495 with combicartridges? I'm interested in that printer as well (not so much that I would kiss it lol). I have some questions:
-What refill ink are you using?
-Is print quality still excellent after 1700 pages?
