Any one using the Pro 10 yet with 3rd party inks or are you still using it with OEM inks, it would be great to hear if things have moved on and are improving with this newer model.

From what I can gather the Pro 10 is not as popular or as well liked as the Pro 100 but that still begs the question on how it prints compared to the much older model Pro 9500.

The Pro 10 does have a dedicated GLOP cartridge but loses out on one colour compared to the Pro 9500 and that is the only difference between the two printers, O’ there was an all new OEM ink set specially made for the Pro 10.

But can the Pro 10 print better quality that the Pro 9500 with its GLOP cartridge on glossy paper ? because the Pro 9500 does an excellent job all ready when using OEM inks on OEM glossy paper without the use of any GLOP.

The Pro 9500 however does lose out somewhat on quality when using 3rd party inks on full gloss paper and suffers a bit from colour differential and bronzing that may occur on certain glossy papers.

But we haven’t heard how the Pro 10 is handling the same situation with 3rd party inks on board, there has been no reports on the use of these inks or how it handles the output quality, I wonder why. ?

I have come up with a unique way of solving most of the issues with colour differential and bronzing on the Pro 9500 when using 3rd party paper /inks, it’s not expensive but still quite effective.

I use one print head with all of the colour cartridges to do any photos that I might want to print and the next day I use a separate print head and a spare set of cartridges filled with just GLOP to overprint each photo.

I used a solid dark brown image in Photoshop to cover the entire page with GLOP which removes about 85% of the colour and bronzing issues that can sometimes occur, does it do a better job of it than the Pro 10 ? I just don’t know, but I like it.

I didn’t buy an extra print head to do this, I just use one of the heads that I had replaced when it got some nozzle damage and was not giving a perfect nozzle print pattern.

So will we get any Pro 10 owners to chip in with their comments on what they are using and what their print quality looks like, but above all are they happy with the Pro 10 Printer or not ? 3rd party pigment ink have always been less glossy then their OEM opposition but are well compensated by their cost..
