I'm in search of a printer that is able to print photos onto 270-300 gram card in a 6x4 format.
My intention is be able to print my own postcards to send out to friends and family. High quality is not absolutely vital, something comparable to offset printed postcards would suffice.
What kind of issues would be presented by printing on this kind of non-standard medium? I'm keen to avoid photo paper as it would be too flimsy to send through the mail as well as dear.
Has anyone had any experience producing postcards like those described above and if so what set up did you use and what difficulties did you encounter?
If possible would like to print double sided though I do not know whether there are printers that can print photo on one side, apply gloss finish and bw on the other. Is there such a wonderous thing?
