We have a small business selling paintings online. To improve efficency we would like to print the general outline of the painting onto an A3 300gsm Textured Watercolor sheet of paper and then paint over it with watercolors. So it is imperative that the ink does not smudge or run.

I would appreciate some advice on the best printer/ink setup to allow us to do this.

I will list off the specs:

A3 printer
Waterproof ink
Monochrome
Can handle 300gsm textured paper
Low usage (3 sheets/day)

Thanks in advance.

How long do your customers expect your product to last?

If you are selling prints, longevity is very important. I would consider pigment ink.

The Canon pro 9500 can handle your specs. No problem but and its a big but.
Its not a cheap printer in fact its over priced if anything, the prints are waterproof, it does monochrome very well ,
no problems with 300gm. texture or canvas papers up to A3 + size and it does not clog up at all when left unused for weeks.

There are also a number of Epson printers that can tackle the same job and cheaper
as I am unfamiliar with Epson I cant recommend any particular model..
