hey guys i was having problems with no black printing (small black cart) what i did was remove the ceramic print head part and use some tubing to inject into the each screen everything was fine except for the one that holds the small black cart nothing would flow thru it even after soaking over night the screen apeared to be clean (it was nice and shinny like the others)so i let it soak some more but no change needles to say the ink that im useing must be junk(althought the other colors im not having problems with, why is that)so since the head was bad i remove the screen from that port and low and behold i was able to get it to flow nicely like the others ports so that ink must have sealed up the screen like concrete what do you guys use to get the screens clean i have a feeling that was the whole problem and that i had created other problems by doing other methods that probably wasnt needed(costly mistake on my stupid part)

I would try it with some heated window cleaner, that should dissolve the crusted ink much better than any room temperature liquid. Worked great for me!

(but please only try that in a well ventilated room...)

Do you refill your cartridges? If so, do you have a different kind of ink for the large black cartridge and the small black cartridge? The large one uses pigment based ink while the small one is dye.

It's very likely your dye black ink has dried up in the tiny ink tunnel between the screen and the print head. If your printer is used to print text documents most of the time. The dye black ink is rarely used by the print head. I have an i860 long time ago that did the same thing. It was used almost exclusively for text documents for many years. I did not even know that the dye black print head was clogged. I never knew when it was clogged. The printer was used quite heavily everyday day. It probably never saw a photo print job. I continued to use it for text documents for several years with no problems and I knew the dye black part could not print anything.
