I have noticed that most of the time the nozzles are fine except the clog is on the print head plate itself. I tried to clean them by

coffee filter
Artist brush
scotch magic tape (the one that some people use to clean DSLR sensor)
paper towel

And the best so far is coffee filter. Sometimes scotch magic tape cleans a head that failed the other cleaning methods.

Perhaps there is better and more safe approach?

One of the best is simply spraying windex on the bottom of the head and blotting the head on a lint free cloth, you can also soak the cloth with windex and just let the printhead simply sit on the cloth while dripping windex on the inlet screens on top. You'll see the drops get sucked in and the cloth will absorb it. I wouldn't use the scotch tape because you don't want to tug on the nozzles and possibly separate them from their electronics.

It's the bottom of the print head, the nozzles are the place where ink is sprayed on paper.

Why it sounds better not to use syringe and blow the inlet ports? Pressure can separate internal seals?
What about sucking with a syringe instead of blowing?

Anyway the topic still the same how to best clean the golden nozzles :D
