Do you know of any good place to get service manual for Canon Inkjet printer i560s?

I need to know the right way to remove the skin in order to clear a paper jam inside.

Thanks for any tips!

Here is a link to PeterBJ post for the i860 i865 860i,
these printers are very much the same as your own and will have the same layout.

I am curious as to why you need to take your printer apart just for a paper jam..

The i550/i850/i950 service manual also partly covers the i560, but there is a supplementary manual for the i560 covering only the differences: http://elektrotanya.com/canon_i560_pixus_560i_sm.pdf/download.html .

The parts catalog might also be useful, as it contains some assembly drawings: http://www.encompassimaging.com/shop/research_new/CAN/I850.pdf .

Edit: It seems this link only works sporadically. Here is another link: http://elektrotanya.com/canon_i550_i560_i850_i850s_i950_parts.pdf/download.html

And here is a druckerchannel.de article in English on how to disassemble older Canon printers to change ink absorbers: http://www.druckerchannel.de/artike...replace_waste_ink_sponges_of_canon_s_i_models

Thanks for your responses, The Hat and PeterBJ.

After the jam in the printer, the sheet "mostly" came out but left a long strip (along the edge) inside the printer; the strip is invisible from all the regular openings. I thought if I remove some of the outer skins, I might be able to see the strip of paper left inside, and try to clear it.

Upon power up, the ink cartridge carrier usually to the center when the top cover is opened; it now stuck at the rest (right) position. I suspect the paper is preventing it from moving out. If I can get it to move out, I probably will see the lost strip of paper there.

Just remember when removing any paper jam to always push or pull it through the printer
and never ever be tempted to pull it out backwards.

It doesnt matter if the paper comes apart in a dozen pieces or more
avoid the obvious temptation of pulling it back, it can render your printer unusable..
