Pixma MP560

Long story short - anyone know how to find out what default user name and password is on a mp560 ?
Second computer(iMac) on network (the other (W7) has hard wired connection ) can get as far as print dialogue box and can see printer on network but asks for above input before getting any further.
Have tried ADMIN and serial number, saw that somewhere but not specifically for this model.
Any thoughts ?

You can't connect directly to your printer.

On Windows printers are traditionally controlled by a driver on the computer, and as far as I know it is the same on Apple.

This way the computer where the printer is connected must share the printer, and you should login to this computer or your (home) network, not to the printer.

Otherwise it is an Apple Airprint or Google Cloud enabled printer.
How to connect directly to the printer is very well explained and IMO the way to go to print from any device, also smartphones and tablets.

As said, your printer was born before, but you still can make a cloud printer from any printer connected to a computer via Google Chrome.
