Hey all.

I recently picked up a Canon PIXMA iP8720 for the 13X19 photo prints at a reasonable price 200CDN. It’s printing results I’m pleased with and went to buy new ink and found new XL cartridges nearly 150CDN! !

Looking to refill for a lower cost with an ink that lasts and produces good color for photography. is Refilling the OEM CLI-251's the best way?

Found precision colors and was going to order their chip reseter for OEM cartridges. Do these still work with new CLI-251’s for the iP8720?

Reading about the benefits of longer lasting (in UV light) OEM ink I was thinking of purchasing BK/C/M/Y/GY intended for the bulk tank systems like Canon GI-23 Ink Bottles? Anyone done that or know if it will work?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I thought that PC is sold to an American entity and no longer Canadian. So be sure you can buy from them without the famous tariffs.... Anyhow original GI-23 ink bottles will be far superior in terms of fade resistance (Chromalife-100 fade resistance). Just refill your original cartridges and disable ink levels, if you cannot get the resetter.

Thanks for the reply Pharmacist. I will see if they are now USA only and try and find one up here.
I diden't realize I could disable the ink levels... thats a way forward. Thanks :)
Less than ideal with the black carts but will work till I can source one.

I appreciate your time!
