I have been gathering the components to make up some of Pharmacist cleaning/conditioning solution. Ammonia is not easy to find in the UK particularly strong percentages. I purchased via Amazon some household ammonia strength not specified, now it has arrived the label says Ammonia less than 5% non-ionic surfactant.

I assumer I can still use it but instead of 5 drops add 100 drops/5ml per 100ml of solution? The product came highly recommended, in fact one user had cleaned his Canon print head blockage successfully using it 50% ammonia 50% water. Sounds a bit dodgy to me but the Canon owner was of course well pleased to salvage a good machine.

Actually it was formulated by myself using the rules of chemistry and the physical properties of water, isopropanol and propylene glycol and taking the problem of the sponge material of the cartridge into consideration.
