Hello this is my first time here. I'm looking foor information how to reset the chips on the Canon PGI-550/CLI-551 cartridges. Or is there a way to deny the chip and the message and will the printer then still function?

The 551 cartridges cannot be reset at present so you will have to disable the ink monitoring
if you wish to continue to refill and use your cartridges,
here is a link to the very same topic.

I'm new too and did not refill yet (but have the kit to do it as soon as i will have empty cartdriges).

PGI-550/CLI-551 are not resetable... yet...

REad here http:/ /www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=8681

"you have to wait till your prompted by the printer to change your cartridge
and this is done when the resume button flashes orange.

Now hold in the resume button only and no other (Flashing Orange)
keep your finger on it for more than five seconds and then release,
this will then allow you to continue to print.

Youll have to do this for each individual cartridges in turn but its only needed the once on each
and you wont have to do it again after that,
please make sure you dont run out of ink by checking the cartridges regularly..
