Hi, a newbie here. I've been reading and learning:)

Would it be possible to change the sponges in the PG-40 and CL-41? Mine are the smaller (half size) ones, just wondered if they could be replaced with full size ones and if anyone tried this ..

Even if you could do it, where would you get the sponge material from?

Why don't you just buy the higher capacity cartridges, PG-50 and CL-51, and refill them?

Or are you wondering if you could take the sponges out of the higher capacity cartridges when the heads wear out and put them in new lower capacity cartridges?

Thanks for the reply. I'll be buying a new printer soon because I am not very happy with these cartridges .. they run out quickly and are more difficult to refill than those that have separate cartridges for each color. Here I'd have to pay over $60 for the higher capacity ones .. almost the cost of a new printer!

I just thought I could keep this one until the heads wear out and just wondered if these sponges can 'somehow' be bought and cut to size (smile). I quess not. Put it down to a ''silly newbie question'' (smile) ..
