PCWorlds Jeff Bertolucci tests another DIY ink-refill kit.

PCWorlds Jeff Bertolucci gives us another look at a DIY ink-refill kit. Here is the address:

http://www.pcworld.com/article/2349...t_maximum_hassle_poor_printouts.html#tk.hp_fv

Jeff uses a G&G Ink Refill Kit to fill HP carts. The title-- G&G Ink Refill Kit: Maximum Hassle, Poor Printouts--tells us the results of the experiment. Jeff shows us a picture of his face covered in ink spots (wasnt that a name of a singing group!!!!).

Here are my thoughts on Jeff:

1. Even though Jeff has used a number of refill kits he seems not to be able to learn from his past mistakes.

2. Why does Jeff not use a different brand of cart? Why not a Canon cart?

3. In Jeffs universe weight scales have not been invented yet. If Jeff would weigh a virgin HP cart before he placed the cart in the printer and then weigh the cart after he gets a low ink message I believe he would have must better luck in using the refill kits. He seems to think that more ink is better than less ink.

4. Jeff needs a keeper (if not a housekeeper)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you.

Ah... c'mon... The whole point of these exercises is to "prove" to the customer base that refilling is a difficult, messy, and potentially wasteful idea..

I suspect that were we to send the deliberate buffoon a kit that was well thought out, well supported with video guides, written instructions and all of the potential pitfalls covered, he'd immediately bin the thing and look for something else that was easy to abuse.

Simply put, the magazine relies on the advertising income from all the brands so the remit for all these things is simple... Make refilling, CIS's, etc... look bad.

In fact I'll make a prediction... If they ever do a CIS review you can bet it will be a Canon one based on a cheap eBay kit and one that requires the chips to be swapped over so he can make a pigs ear of that as well...

Anyone care to take that bet?

'NUFF SAID ! ! !....................

Let's see..........$28.00_USD for the color kit which contains ~ 4 oz of "fluid" total.
Let's be generous and allow $4.00_USD for the "syringes" included in the kit.
So, I calculate ~ $6.00_USD per ounce for color (dye based) ink/head cleaner..........such a deal, huh..........:D

Yeah,

And when the same clowns review a complex and technically advanced piece of hardware we assume they know what they are talking about.

Even more perplexing is that their normally "crusty" editors get sucked in to this charade. Of course it couldn't be intellectual dishonesty! - could it?
