I did notice this would be the forum to post. I noticed all the new style carts are the labyrinth style large reservoir tanks for cli-221 carts. After peeling back the sticker I found the best way to refill these is to carefully puncture the plastic sheet bonded to the top into the vent chamber and with the cart vertical insert the needle all the way through. You have to make sure the needle hits all the way to the bottom past the small hole at the bottom of the vent chamber and squeeze ink through which should fall to the bottom of the cart and the venting may bubble some ink out the top but not too much, absorb it with a tissue held around the needle. After filling it you then need to prime it or you may get flow issues. This is done by dropping 5-10 drops of ink into the foam at the outlet. And it seems these carts are higher capacity than oem but you get less buffer before you run out of ink since the amount in the foam is very little. All the ink is in the tank.

Here's a pic if you're still not clear about where to insert the needle. From the top it goes through the left hole over the vent chamber.

The arrow shows where to insert the needle, remember it's the left side hole. Also to wipe stray ink clean from the hole and cover the hole with tape when you're done. Don't forget the needle needs to get past the bottom hole or you'll just end up filling the vent chamber and ink will get leak out the top.

My goodness, with normal Canon CLI-521 cartridges making a hole like this will cause the ink rapidly drained from the cartridge....

Besides: how much does the diamant cost ?

That is a 25mm cubic zirconia I can't even put it in any jewelry because it's so big. But it is a nice conversation piece. It was 12.99 at jamminggems.com if you pay more for any other CZ stone you're getting ripped off big time. I'm a huge fan of their lab created rubies. 100% real rubies with perfect clarity and color for very cheap I get compliments for the jewelry I make all the time. Latest creation is this little gem.

Sterling silver setting with 15mm princess cut ruby, 6mm yellow sapphires, and 3mm CZ accents. Whole thing is about 1.25 inches wide and about 1 inch high.

Oh and it doesn't drain even if you leave the hole in it because the reservoir is still sealed. It's a pretty ingenious design because it hold more ink before your printer reads low based on the sensor, kinda moot because I disabled ink monitoring on my ip4600 so the printer isn't always cleaning itself and filling it's waste ink tank.
