New spamming technique: asking for so-called advice on a product.

There seems to be some new members trying to do subtile product placement wrapped in a question about our advice what to think of the specific product in some link to a company. I would rather not answer to those questions.

I will not click on the links .

Pharmasist, if you are referring to me, I use this site as an aid for myself and my work, as well as help others if I can, my website link has been removed for your peace of mind, it was not here as an advertisement, but also an aid to people looking for info that may help them.

Any time you see a new member posting in this manner, just click on the Report link in the lower right corner and if we concur, we will delete the post and ban the new user. We appreciate your input in these matters.

Another technique we have been noticing is that some new users will make ten inane posts just so they can get past the Newbie status and then they add their website. We're on to that too.

Yep... anyone using non technical words or anything that indicates they have a life outside of ink, printers and refilling are a dead giveaway... Happy wives/partners/girlfriends/etc... are also a big clue... Mine is constantly annoyed at all the "rubbish"
