That printer should be at a premium with the news of what Canon's new models are like.
PGI-5 CLI-8, was the pinnacle. Hope you fetch a mint.

I have not had my canon ip4300 long and am probably only on my second set of inks.
I use jet tec canon compatible cartridges and re use the chip from the originals as per the instructions.
My cyan recently ran out so I bought a new one but when I put it in the printer I got an error message saying the tank coouldn't be recognised.
So I bought another thinking the cartridge might be faulty but again the same thing happened.
I have cleaned the contacts with cleaning fluid I also uninstalled the printer then re installed it.
I have run several cleaning cycles.
Am I missing something here ?

Maybe your chip is "kaputt". Do you use a resetter to reset the chip ? Sometimes this helps to eradicate the strange error messages. About the second cyan cartridge: I presume this is a brand new original Canon cartridge, not ?
