recently i found 2 of my black cartridges leaking from the rubber plugs that i use, i use the colored plugs with a pull tab on them i believe that i may have accidently made the hole for the plugs a little too big. to test for leaks i stood the cartridges on end the fill hole near the bottom and i taped the maze port closed and i still got a little leakage from around the plugs, so i pulled the plugs made sure the outside of the cartridge was completely dry and used the aluminum tape that is used on heating and cooling duct work removed the tape from the maze port and stood the cartridges on end (see the attached picture) it appears that this is a good seal, i am surprised as previous attempts to use tape have failed. the cartridges were transported in a zip lock bag and there was ink all over the bag that is how i found that they were leaking, the other colors were not leaking that is why i think i may have made a bad refill hole for the plugs, anyway on occasion i mail refilled cartrides to friends and this is the first time i have had a cartridge leak, i think this may be a better way to seal the cartriges i will let them stand on end for a full day to see if there is any leaks, i know i know use the german method, that does not work for me as i have tried that in the past with the older clear CLI cartridges that you can see the sponge and at times i have over filled the sponge, with the newer cartridges there is no way to tell if you are filling the sponge area that is why i prefer the top fill, when i mail refilled cartridges i also use black electrical tape to close the maze vent just to seal the cartridge completely
