I currently use the Epson artisan 50. Happy with print quality but not with speed or that I have to realign my cartridges all the time. I now have a couple of faint gaps that I can't fix. I've had this printer about a year. Any ideas how to fix this so I can postpone my purchase a while longer?

I'm amazed by all the information here but overwhelmed by all the choices and opinions as well...
I have a stationery and design business and print note cards and invitations on really thick, sometimes textured papers - as many as 1000 per month. I am trying to expand and wholesale my products to stores and know that I will have to continue to home print until I get my quantity way up - and my artisan 50 is not going to cut it. And my ink costs are through the roof!! I had no idea I could buy anything other than the tiny little epson cartridges! Somehow I have never heard of refilling your own ink or CISS before reading several posts on this forum.

I would really appreciate anyone steering me in the right direction as far as a sort of fast, Mac compatible, inkjet printer capable of handling thick photo paper and card stock. Also, info about what i should do as far as ink refill/CISS options?

Anything I should know or brands or methods I should avoid...
Thank you so much.

A very warm welcome to the forum. You will find the members are a helpful bunch, and the information in the forum is priceless. It is quite simply the most informative place I have found on the net, for all printer related info ;)

Some more knowledgeable on CISS systems will be along soon, however I can say that CISS with Canon printers are not usually recommended.

Be warned though that once you get addicted to the refilling and printer addiction they begin to breed/reproduce themselves :D
