Hi,

I need to print images like this (see image). My inkjet is okish, but I needed more professional quality, so I tried at a net cafe colour laser printer. The quality was worse on their laser! Colour was dark, grey was blue, and the crystals were dark and dull. My question is....is it just their printer or is this type of print just not suited to laser?

Any help would be great ! cheers!

a typical laser printer is not very well suited for photo print, there are several factors to consider - the dithering, the raster used by a laser may become visible , it is more coarse on most printers than on inkjet printers. You may get problems in uniform color areas, wheter it's black or sky blue or ..or- you may see discontinuities from the paper transport mechanics, and a color laser is not adjusted to print photos but to print diagrams etc. You can profile a laser printer to get an icc-profile, you'll improve the colors but a profile cannot fix the other limitations. It is typical that color prints vary with the age and usage of the imaging unit. There are laser printers on the market which are much better for photo print than other models, but you need to test them for this purpose, and if you want to spend quite a lot of money you can even get printers -e.g. by Oki - which are capable to work as a proof printer.

Hi @kikim and welcome, yes there are inkjets that will print very good quality photo prints for you but you may have to use a higher quality printer than a 7250 to be sure.

You could try using better quality photo paper and on the highest media setting on your 7250, the other problem you may also have is you may have edited the photos yourself before printing and your system is not profiled properly Monitor/Printer to do that !

Edit @PeterBJ has just beat me to it.. ! !
