Guys,

What do you think MX870 or 9000 mk II? I have an MP830 and am currently looking to stock a replacement in case mine goes kaput. I use my printer for scanning, especially duplex ADF scan and duplex printing more than photo printing. I find the 9000 unnecessarily big, ink-consumptive (2pl comparably to the MX870 1 pl) and unnecessarily costly (comparatively more expensive than the MX870). However I like the fact that the 9000 uses the same ink as my printer now, so low learning curve in terms of refilling and head cleaning etc.

Thanks beforehand.

Its a big step up from A4 to A3 so you should expect an increase in print costs however,
the 9000 despite its huge size is an exceptional printer so you WILL do more photo printing trust me.. Wow

The 9000 will be a good partner to your 870, it just doesnt use the same inks but the same cartridges and resetter also,
yes there are a few extra inks to be got but not a lot and you can then
dedicate your 870 to just scanning and duplex jobs, which should extend its life even further.. :)
