Hi there,
Wow, am I glad I found this forum! I'm really grateful to anybody taking the time to read this and help me with this problem.
I got the ink refill cartridges for my new canon mg5370 and finally its time to change them. The supplier gave us refill cartridges marked 'C-221' for the four thinner ones and C-220 for bigger black one (the original ink cartridges are 726 and 725 respectively. When I put filled them and inserted them I get the error message "Appropriate ink tank is not installed".
I'm not sure how to get around this problem. From what I've read it might be possible to use a chip resetter, I've been reading about them on the inkbank website (an Australian site that I was restricted from linking to here). However, I don't think they would work in my situation because its not that the printer thinks the printer ink is low, its a case of not recognizing the cartridge at all. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this.
If not this, then perhaps I could transfer the old chip to the refillable cartridge? Then it would require a chip resetter I suppose...
If anybody has advice I'd be delighted to hear from you.
Thanks
