I got my 8220 in. I caught it with a discount of $175.00 off. Thought I would try it. Got a couple of question though. First, I have ordered a set of extra blank canon cartridges with the chip. They are the original 225/226 cartridges. Thought I could just fill those, also got the chip resetter. The cartridges that came with the printer, I thought I could also just refill them, and reset them when I refill them. That way I would have an extra set of cartridges. I guess the cartridges that come with this printer can be reset and refilled? I saw a tutorial on refilling with the german method. I like that method on paper. Would not have to fool with extracting the little rubber ball and putting in a plug. Seems like just making a small hole and filling then covering with aluminum tape would be much simpler. Just wondering if anyone had anything to say about the german method as I have not attempted it before.
Thanks

The opaque 225/226 carts are not as easy to refill as the clear CLI-8 carts are
and require a better understanding to get it right first time and every time.

The German method can be used to refill these carts but you really have to be extra careful while doing so,
I would rather recommend the top fill method to you as a more controllable way to refill the opaque carts successfully.

You dont have to extract the ball out of the top of the carts either,
you can put a little hole in it instead and use that to refill the cart.

Have a look at this link to make a better judgment on it.
