I think the noise was that i was hearing, and im absolutely sure it was pressure building in the lines you could hear it clearly,poping and squeezing the tubes, do you think there is any chance ? it has been stood for 3 years, surely it couldn't just start printing ??

can it recover from this, and do they usually recover ?? also the noise i was hearing, im positive it was pressure in the lines, it just sounded like a blood pressure monitor tightening around your arm !!

The Pro1 uses pressurised ink lines and that’s what you were hearing, and it does sound like someone getting the blood pressure taken, but there’s not a hope in hell of it just starting to print, because there’s 3 years of old ink dried up in the head. try to print and it will kill the head for sure, just be patient..

The printer can recover and yes they do usually make a full recovery, but there’s always at least 1 caveat, the dreaded “B200 error” once you can clear that you can then run a nozzle check and that will tell you your next move.

More like its tightening around your wallet…so hold onto it tightly…

Instead of Canon Pro-1 it should be called the Canon Python-1 since it wraps around your wallet and squeezes till something gives.

Hey Hat we have lift OFF well nearly.

PBK is missing and R is missing GY is part missing at the bottom, and CO has vertical banding, but that is the first print in at least 3 years.

Good job getting over the first hurdle and printing a nozzle check.

Now reread the posts from The Hat. He tells you what to do next after your first nozzle check. Patience is not just a virtue but a requirement when coaxing a clogged printer back to health.

Remember --- print nothing but nozzle checks until the clog issues are resolved or The Hat says otherwise.

You are on the right track. Hang in there!

All nozzles unblocked apart from PBK that is really struggling to clear at all, but the printer seems to be working a treat apart from the one blocked nozzle....

Wow that’s great.. Phew…You were lucky with the B200 error, because that error can go with you or against you, anyway you’re up and running now and it should respond, after all the careful handling you have given her.

From what I can see from your nozzle print.. The Grey is the only one with some issues, is it, in or out, hopefully it will come good later, the PBK and Red are missing but that’s ok and that’s to be expected with your first print, and the CO is normal, that’s how it should look always.

Next step is to go for 1 deep clean, then let it sit for an hour and try a nozzle print again, you should see much improvement from the previous one, and at this stage all that’s left to do is wait and let it settle down, the odd nozzle print every so often will also help, but at this point don’t turn the printer off leave it powered on.

Once you get your first clear nozzle print you can then print anything you like, and if it’s a photo then don’t alter or change anything till you see how things turn out..

Thanks for your reply, im following everything you say, but the one thing that did the business was a system clean on the PBK ink bank...

what does this look like to the trained eye. ??
