Is there a recommended way to clean your CIS chamber/tanks?

I've had my Canon MP780 for years now and i am due for new inks this week.

I have noticed that the CIS chambers (made from perspex i believe) are coated and I no longer can easily see the level of ink inside.

Has anyone had a similar issue and how did you clean your tanks?

Thanks

If you are going to refill your CISS unit with ink again theres no need to clean it out
if you are using the same inks as before.

However if you plan to get inks from a different supplier then it would be advisable
to wash both the bottles and tubing of all of the old inks.

Just use tap water to rinse through everything till all of the ink is gone and then let your CISS dry.
If you want to get it completely clean then use a little washing-up liquid but its unnecessary to have it spotless.

Next time use only Quality inks in you CISS and the ink levels will be a lot easier to see.
Be advised if you dont use your printer on a near daily basics a CISS system is just an over kill and
refilling OEM cartridges would be a much better more reliable and enjoyable option for you.. :)

I used inks from.Ebay but these were recommended at the time.

The only issue I have had.is condensation in the tanks. I'm not sure whether that's due to the inks out the warmth from the printer?

This time I will either be using one of the following inks

http://www.rihac.com.au/series-inks-c-29_31_35_56.html
Or
http://continuousinksupplysystem.com.au/en/content/10-Ink-Information

I don't think that I can clean the tubes all the way through as they are attached to the cartridge and they have sponges.

Just remove everything out and away from your printer and place them in a sink.

Then run the water through the large bottles it will come out through the cartridges and clean them as you go.
If you have a large syringe it makes the job a lot easier by pumping air into the water filled bottles.. :)

I'm worried that the sponge will hold the water and take forever to flush out of the sponge.
