Hi - 1st post so be gentle with me :)

I bought some really cheap JetTec ink cartridges off someone who'd had them laying around and the first one I used (Cyan) has blocked my print head (lesson learned).

I've read through the posts about cleaning the print heads and have soaked the head for ~10 minutes then put a tube on the feed nozzle and blown through so that I saw Cyan ink falling into the water and continued until it was just dirty water coming out, I re-fitted the head and swapped out the cartridge but after a couple of prints the Cyan stops printing. I repeated the process and exactly the same thing happened.

Is it neccesary to leave the head soaking for 24 hours? in which case I will try to exersise some patience, I dont really want to start messing around with chemicals. I think the printer is still under warrenty so worst case I'll just have to get some genuine cartridges and take it back to the shop !?! But any other suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

It looks like no one is willing to even reply, so although I don't know anything about your particular printer, I'll at least respond. Especially, since I'm not getting any replies that pertain to the main point of my recent post on another Canon printer and its problems.

First - make it a little clearer to me exactly what you mean by "put a tube on the feed nozzle"? Is this "feed nozzle" the same thing that I call the "filter", onto which the bottom of the ink cartridge fits? And if so, what are you attaching via the tube and blowing with? Is it a syringe or something equivalent, that contains clean water? Finally, did only this Cyan ink cartridge stop printing, or did all the cartridges stop printing? Without these details it's hard to guess what the cause is, or even what the exact nature of the problem might be.

As far as how long to soak it in water, I really don't have an exact answer, it depends on what might be plugged. Incidentally, was your printer functioning well before you tried these recently acquired cartridges?

More details will help. And I too am not too experienced in this forum so I understand your position.
