IP4200 15 flashes?

IP4200 gives 15 Orange flashes when powered up and will not print.
Isnt 15 orange flashes "ink tank not recognized" code?

Are the 4200s as picky about ink tank chips as the 4300s?

Thanks Ron.

Hi Ron,

the 15 flashes is for an ink tank not being recognized. That is, the printer does not see the ink tank and thinks that you have an empty spot. Along with this you should have one or more of the ink tanks with no lights on. (dark) The manual says to replace the ink tank.

The 4200's are just as picky as all the other printers which requires a chip on the ink tank cartage.

You could try to clean the contacts on the ink tank chip. I use an eraser when needed, which is very seldom.

Since I have been using a couple of 4200's with more refills than I care to count, I have only had one ink tank fail due to a chip failure.

If you have a chip reseter, you could try resetting the chip and see if that would work.

Epson, Canon, HP... A "few"
As Jack said, the resetter is a good option to try... I used that on a printer that was giving the same error and that corrected it.
