A few days ago I ordered several liter bottles with the latest Inktec CLI-8 compatible refill ink, which according to druckerchannel.de is one of the best refill inks and according to dpreview.com one with the best fade resistance after the original Canon ink.
I'm still testing the ink and found the gamut as good as the Hobbicolors UW-8 ink, albeit that the Inktec ink is lacking the slight magenta cast from the original Canon Chromalife 100 and the Hobbicolors UW-8 ink. Since I'm using customized ICC-profiles this problem can be removed completely. Skin tones look more natural and less reddish, but some find the Hobbicolors UW-8 ink more vivid.
On positive note about the ink composition: it has only a faint chemical smell and does not contain high levels of glycol/isopropanol as some cheap refill inks have.
For the pigmented BCI-3eBk/PGI-5Bk I purchased the KMP pigment black ink which -according to druckerchannel.de- has the best "Highlighter" smearing resistance of all pigmented black (refill + original Canon) inks. I did not have the possibility yet to test this claim.
Experiences about Inktec or other good refill inks from other forummembers are greatly appreciated !
