It's been ten months since I purchased the i-Refill system from Inkrepublic for my Epson 3800. It's been okay, but I've had many problems with clogging, especially heavy banding in mid shadow areas. I'm also a bit disappointed in the bronzing I can see, especially in black and white prints the Epson OEM inks are substantially better IMO. The reason for my post is I am about to refill my cartridges for the first time. Ten months is very long for me to not have to replace ink but 2011 was not a heavy year of printing as I walked away from photography for personal reasons.
My question is, when topping off/re-filling my i-Refill cartridges, do I need to prime the cartridge again (I did in the initial installation) after refilling? Also, before I twist open the refill plug on the top of the cartridge, do I need to do anything beforehand to prevent air bubbles forming, etc.? Or is this process as simple as opening the plug, refill as necessary and, voila, ready to print?
Thanks kindly in advance.
