Hello Folks,

New to the forum. Seems like one of the best I've come across. Good on ya!

I just picked up (almost for nothing) a fine Epson 4000 printer. Of course, at that price it needs ink. I haven't found any useful info on aftermarket inks until finding this forum. I'm convinced I would be okay trying aftermarket inks. So, I would like to hear from anyone using aftermarket inks in this printer and what brand you're using.

Cheers,

Rick

I would recommend to buy Image Specialists K4 inks for this printer and buy a cheap Epson large format resetter (about $20) and refill the original cartridges (I think still possible with these generation of cartridges). The ink waste tank can be modified with a cup as a container for the waste ink, so you can easily discard the ink after a large print job and when the chip tells you the ink waste tank is full (which is not when you discard the ink frequently), just use the resetter to reset the level back to 100 % (which means: ink waste tank is clean).
