Just bought a refill pack from Hobbicolors on ebay. As I don't print much, these 4 oz bottles might last several years for me. But how long they'll expire?

On carts the shelf life canbe between 2 and 4 years. Refill kits. I've seen, say a shelf life between 1.5 and 3 years, but I'm pretty sure they will last longer. I've had some dye based ink here thats older than 5 years, it's used for my grandsons printer, and prints just as good as the day it was bought. \every so often, I give the bottles a good shake, and I believe this has helped.

Does shaking generate bubbles which I think not a good thing?

I'm not saying shake it before you use it, What I said was to give it a shake every so often whilst it's not being used.

IF ice cream can be dated to last up to 3 years than ink can 10years. I know because I used some ink that is almost that old from dirst generation canon printers and it still works well on pixma printers :)
