I'm crazy: I bought an expensive Canon resetter !

I must be completely crazy: I bought one of those expensive Canon resetter.

And guess what: if works great even with cartridges from my friend who has an IX4000. For the older models you can reuse the same cartridges again an again. Only some models like the MP830 (recently produced versions with a "newer" firmware, not the older ones) will give problems when using the same carts again.

To cover my very expensive investment and for other forum members I'm willing to reset your carts for a small amount per cartridge ( 1,50/cartridge: refilling is done by yourself. For those from the USA $ 2.25/cart) if you send me the cartridges which I can reset for you. This is interesting for those living in the EU-zone (I'm from Belgium). Guys from the USA and from Down Under, please keep in mind the expensive shipping costs (interesting only if you send me large batch of carts). Shipping and handling costs are yours ( 2,50 in the EU-zone) !

For those interesting in it: I can reset the PGI-5 BK and CLI-8 cartridges (cyaan, magenta, yellow, black, photo/light cyan, photo/light magenta).

Isn't there a problem with resetting a cartridge and then reinstalling it in the same printer? I had understood that the chips are serialized and the printer wouldn't see a rest chip with a serial number it recognized as being a new cartridge.

No this is not true for the older models. I mailed thinktankuk and the problem only occurs with the latest versions of printers (likewise starting from late this year). The Canon MP970 and the latest versions of the IP4500 are affected.

I just resetted one cartridge which has been consumed by my resetprinter and it works great !!! It is a Canon IP5200 and the ink levels are restored to 100 % by the resetter. There is no stored serialized chip memory in my printer !

The following printer should work OK, even with carts which has been previously consumed to empty on and put back in the same printer after reset:

Canon IP4200/4300/5200/53006600D/6700D IX4000, IX5000, Pro 9000, IP3300/IP3500, IP4500 (the ones older than maybe oktober this year), MP500, MP510, MP530, MP600, MP610, MP800, MP810, MP830 (the older ones before oktober this year). So it should work on most Canon printers the forum members now have.
