I recently refilled my color cartridge. It worked for a day and now it wont work any more giving the error "remove and check color cartridge". I have refilled my ink before and it has always worked in the past. Any suggestions? I use my printer alot. I have turned off the printer and turned it back on and took out the cartridge and put it back in several times.

Such things just happens. It is possible that the cartridge developed an electric fault and is not recognized anymore, requiring replacement. Happened to me with HP 45, 56 and 78 cartridges.

Another possibility is that your printer uses cartridges with expiration date. Check this list.
If this is the case, check here for workarounds.

Normally the error message is caused by a defective cartridge, but it could also be caused by dirty contacts on the cartridge or in the cartridge carriage. Before discarding the cartridge, you could try to clean the contacts with kitchen paper or a Q-tip moistened with isopropyl alcohol or even plain water. Water may be a better solvent for ink dust accumulated on contacts. In case you use water, make sure everything is completely dry before applying power to the printer. I have had success with contact cleaning a few times, but more often the cartridge has failed.
