HP C7280 vs Canon MP610

Which should I choose? I'm trying to get a printer so I can print out pictures of my 6 month old son for Xmas presents for relatives and such... so I'm trying to pick one up here soon. After that, I'll be using mostly printing/scanning functions, with pictures here and there.

I'm leaning towards the C7280, but several reviews say that the software that comes w/it is pretty bad.

I've been all over the net.. several different forums, and no one really seems to have an answer as to which would be better!

i've got a MP600 which is last years 610 and I'm very satisfied. It replaced a HP PSC 2110 all in one and both print and scan quality is better than the HP ever had, It's quieter(even has a quiet mode so you don'w wake up anybody late at night. I like the individual cartridges and am refilling. Overall a really decent printer and seems to be built better than the HP was. I know it's at least 5 pounds heavier.
