Been using refillable 364/564 carts for while now with OGP ink. Started getting a mixture of good photos and weird ones with for instance the Penguins in Windows demo folder instead of black backs turquoise blue. numerous head cleans did not work. Then Black documents did not print at all plain sheet of paper came out.

I assumed a nozzle blockage took printhead out washed it in warm water. Then applied the "PANOS" treatment with paper towel and window cleaner (Mr.Muscle) same Manu. as Windex. left it overnight and re-installed.

This went on for over 5minutes with the display window counting down the time. At the end it then did a printhead alignment test
which it failed and gave the error message OXc 19a0013. I have taken everything out cleaned and tried a set of re-filled OEM carts but no difference.

I have been through the HP convoluted Help Program re-cleaning everything but no change. The final Solution is Service the Product I do not know whether there is anything else I can do. IS IT SCRAP 1 year old 2100 pages. It has been a battle refilling it all the way I tried the German method but the needle kept finding an obstruction with 8mm to go. The black would not have it at all, so reverted to the Intec method having retained and washed out one of the syringes.

I have been batting e-mails back and forth to the HP Help who keep asking the stupidiest questions never reading what you have already told them. If Computers were so unreliable and fickle there would be a riot. Any ideas appreciated

When the printer went to print the alignment page, did it print at all? Or was it just still missing all of the black causing the alignment to fail?

Also... I'm not sure if the newer all in ones have the same "service mode" access as my C7280s, but on those when at the home screen you can press the * and # keys simultaneously on the keypad, then enter "123" as the access code. This brings up a whole bunch of options such as nozzle checks and resets that may be helpful to you.

P.S. Next time just buy a Canon for refilling and save yourself the headache :p Ha ha in all truthfulness my HPs aren't such bad machines but I do like my Canons for refilling much better. There are many high quality and highly tested inks available for the Canons.

Re C5380 thanks for input. No when alignment is finished just pass a blank page through. I do not have the keypad you referred to but I have already tried all the re-start options HP offer. I have just had a reply from them stating I have a printhead problem thats a surprise and they want all my information even though you complete a complete questionaire with all this information when you raise the original ticket. What a shower still I may get lucky

had the good news that HP are going to send me a NEW Printhead but want the old one back for checking. I guess I should wash old OCP Ink out first. My next concern is that with a New Head do I risk my refillable carts with the OCP ink or buy some new OEM I also have some refilled OEM also with OCP Ink in. Frankly I do not want to pay out a large sum of money for the HP ones as I am a pensioner on moderate income but at the same time do not want to risk ruining another printhead.

I was getting excellent prints from the OCP and previously Intec Ink until it started going wrong.

I do not know whether printhead failure is due to ink blockage or plain mechanical misalgnment no doubt one of the great experts out there will know
