Hi, my printer ran out of ink recently and the printer error read "incompatible ink cartridge", so i refilled and put it back in but i get the same error.

i've searched around for the answer but can't find anything with a definate answer.

do i need a chip resetter? if so can you link me to a good one please.

Try cleaning the electrical contacts on the cartridge and the printer.. On some of the HP printers the printer remembers an empty cartridge, but it can't remember more than 2. If you save old cartridges you can trick the memory by switching cartridges and running an alignment a couple of times.

it was the first and only cartridge.
it won't let me do anything with it, as in clean it or whatever the other options were.
