I work for an ink cartridge re-manufacturer and have been having issues with the HP 21/27/56 carts. The ones that are dated 2009 or 2010 never work. It's almost as if the sponge is so dry that it's impossible to resaturate. I don't have any problems with 21/27/56 carts that are dated 2008 and down or the 2011 ones. Does anyone know what's going on with these?

My filling process is as follows:
1. Rinse out cart with distilled water (When I do this, to the problem carts I mentioned, no ink seems to come out.)
2. Spin 3 ways; print head out first
3. Soak overnight on paper towels soaked with distilled water.
4. Atomize
5. Fill in Select Jet II by R-Jet Tek

Please help!

it sounds like you have blocked print heads, If the sponge was so dry it would be hard and the ink would overflow out of the cartidge and also it would be very hard to insert the needle into them. Do you have a print head tester to test the electrical state of the print head? I use the ShopTester from CBR engineering this tests the printhead before i do anything to the cartridge.

I have a HP21 here 2010/04/15 L1 1 08:57:12 It has tested good, it has good TSR and no bad nozzles, I filled it with 10m of ink and run it through our test printer with no problems.

I use Nozzle Rocket (from R-Jet Kek) to unblock my print heads this works like a dream and you only need a few drops on the print head for 10 minutes or so and they are back working again.
