We're cleaning the office and remembered that we didn't sell the ink for our old HP Business Inkjet 1100DTN (Craigslist in our area has been dead for four years). The dates on the packages are Singapore 05/2010 / Singapore 08/2010 / Malaysia 01/2011. Anyone know if these are still gonna work or are they pretty much dead now? Don't want to stick 'em back on Craigslist only to have them not work.

as far as I know, most of the inkjet cartridges have like 2 years shelf life.

I've seen conflicting reports as to whether or not the chips on these carts (which are different than the chips on the lower end printer cartridges) completely murder the cartridge after a certain date. I've seen "doesn't work after the expiration" "doesn't work six months after the expiration" "works but the ink monitoring is disabled" "will cause your printer to go into nuclear meltdown"

The HP Web site has information on expiration. I think there's a way to ignore expiration on some or all of the cartridges.
