I like many other cost conscious consumers have been buying G&G compatible ink cartridges for my Brother printers.

I am trying to be more eco friendly these days and started recycling all my old ink cartridges. I have a collection of lexmark, HP, and epson printers. It seems all the name brand stuff has recycling programs available. It also seems that non of the compatible ink brands have any recycling programs.

Now I am collecting things that I can't recycle and don't feel that great about it. I've scoured the net trying to find some way to recycle this compatible ink cartridges, but every site I find, never accepts compatible. They always want name brand.

Untill I find a way to recycle these, I am going to look into refilling them, because that's next most ecological step that comes to my mind.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

They pretty much are throwaway, personally I'd rather throw name brand carts away than allow the continuing profiteering the major ink companies are doing with their "recycling" program. I refill my compatible carts anyways, I have found the newer style canon compatible carts to hold more ink in their reservoir and deliver it faster than the oem style compatible carts.

If you live in the USA, the best way to recycle ink cartridges right now is to take them to Staples for a $3 reward. Read this post for a few details.
