I saw this video and decided to get a roll to give it a try!
It would be nice to know how it prints, what it smells like and how well it stands up to high temperatures.. Please Nifty come back with your results and comments..

That might be good for my future Mark V1

Looks interesting, although I am curious what additives got used to give the material these properties.

I think PLA is great for being basically fermented plants and therefore not being much of a health concern. Reading that this filament is more abrasive compared to regular PLA, and the additives are not being biodegradable makes me question the reasoning for anyone to choose this filament besides curiousity.

In my opinion, PLA is chosen for art, sculptures, maybe some cheap prototyping or biodegradability application. Anything that doesn't fulfill any mechanical or structural role. Need a strong durable part? Go with the filaments that provide these properties by default.

Abrasive filaments eat anything it rubs along and makes me wonder why anyone would pick an abrasive PLA for it's heat resistance compared to a generic PETG or ABS that has similar heat resistance.

Therefore, adding heat resistance to PLA in exchange for it being abrasive, sounds like a net-minus to me.
It seems like a band aid solution to an issue that has had a solution for many years.

On the contrary, because I can see the big benefits this Ht Pla can bring to a project that is exposed to a bit of high heat once in a while, I have dismissed other filaments because they just don’t meet my requirements for several reasons..

The only objections I’m having at the moment is the cost, it’s almost twice the price of standard Pla, and that may rule it out for some bigger projects, I can see myself getting a role shortly dough, but colours are very limited right now..

If it is indeed abrasive the easy solution is to fit a hardened steel nozzle. If it wears the PTFE bowden tubing just replace it. I guess it comes down to how much you need it.

Colorfabb do a HT version of their lightweight PLA which has been well received by those that print 3D R/C models and live in hot climates.
