I'm a French girl often traveling to the US and on my last amazon.com order I was missing a few bucks for free shipping so I had this great idea of buying ink for my printer (as I needed it and it's cheaper in the US :) ).
Amazon pointed me to PGI-220 cartridges and I didn't double check it on the French web site.
Unfortunately, it appears that my Printer is not an international traveler and it refuses to recognize my cartridge (and I bought 3 of them :()
Please help! Is there a way to override the printer and force it use my cartridge? I still have the old cartridge (PGI520), could I just transfer the chip on the new one (and ignore the "empty cartridge" warning)?
Thanks !

Yes, you could transfer the chip from your PGI520 and then ignore the empty cartridge warning. If you have a chip resetter, you could also reset your PGI520 chip so it will show "full" with the new cartridge.

If you transfer the chip without resetting it and override the low ink warning your printer may start doing lots and lots of unnecessary "cleaning" cycles. It's been reported here that the newer cli-221 printers remember that you've disabled ink monitoring and will subsequently do all they can to waste the ink in what it thinks are refilled carts with lots of cleaning cycles.
