I used to make the hole be as tight and as small as possible
I still would notice that ink had come out of the hole and soaked the tape I had put over if

12 months or so ago... I cant remember the exact time, I had yellow ink from octoink that was a bad batch
He was very kind enough to replace the ink and send a replacement cartridge because my I had got bacteria inside as a result of the bad ink

The hole in the cartridge I got was MASSIVE!
And he doesn't put a tape over it!
When used, not a single drop came out!

What am I missing? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

You might have read my refill instructions: any plastic flakes caused by the drilling process surrounding the refill hole must be carefully cut away so it is smooth, otherwise the ink will be crawling out from the hole and cause stains. Also tape will attrack ink by adhesion forces. If done well, not a single drop of ink will come out from the refill hole after refilling.

i use a borer to make the hole - so no flakes
but on the outer side, there is a raised surface
which the guide i originally started from (cant remember where this was from) said i should get a knife and smooth this off by cutting it + then add a tape

so, you're saying that in my case the outside bit sticking out as a result of the boring doesnt matter?

previously, i've just been to scared NOT to tape the hole
+ when u've got rubber gloves on when refilling, cutting tape to put on the hole can be frustrating!
so using no tape sounds good to me!

thanks

I used a 1 millimeter drill to drill the hole and did cover the hole with tape.

That was before I went back to top filling.
