I have a Lexmark Z1420 and in the past have bought cartridges from ink2u.co.uk, namely, this cartridge: http://www.ink2u.co.uk/ink-cartridg...4-high-capacity-black-ink-cartridge-1497.html

It's the #34.

Anyway, I am going to be doing a lot more printing than usual, so decided that since you can get a 100ml bottle of black ink for 2.99, instead of one cartridge for 13, it would be a lot, lot cheaper to refill it myself.

This is the bottle I was going to get: http://www.phoenixdirectukshop.co.uk/acatalog/For_Lexmark_Compatible_Ink.php ... it's the top one, for 2.99. So question (1) will this ink work? I'm almost 100% sure it will.

Anyway, as far as I can tell, the cartridge I bought from ink2u (see above) already has a hole in it where ink was injected. So, presumably, all I need to do is put some ink in a syringe, get a needle, push it to the bottom and start squeezing. But my question (2) is... I know there are different widths of needles, so what width do I need and what syringe would this be compatible with?

This is a 20ml syringe: http://www.firstaidwarehouse.co.uk/xpp-sterile_single_use_hypodermic_syringe_20ml_single.html

This is a needle: http://www.firstaidwarehouse.co.uk/...ged_21g_0_8_x_20mm_30cm_green.html#opt_review

How are these?

Hi From India,

Following rules to follow:

Make sure that your cart is not a "return Program cartridge" (these cannot be refilled)
Choose a ink that is compatible
Inject ink very very slowly.(maybe lie 1ml per 10-15 secs)
Your needle should not be long enough to reach the bottom of the cart lest you result in a puncture.
Use a 5/10ml syringe.
after refill dab the cart on a soft tissue paper to get a clear pink pattern on the paper.

Hope this helps,

Rgds,

Jasii

Jasiiboss, you can fix your typos by clicking on the Edit link at the bottom of the post. I think you may have another typo on the fifth line.

Right Sir! Thank you for pointing towards the edit button.
Fixed the keyboard so hopefully no more typo errors.
