Hi
I have an Epson PX700W which will print perfectly after a head clean, only to find the next day the black nozzle is completely blocked no black at all when printing. One head clean will clear the nozzle and printing is perfect. Means I have to do a head clean every time I use the printer. Is ther a cure or do I need a new printer

I'd hazzard a guess that somewhere in the system you have a leak of some description as I can't think the ink itself is clogging that quickly. More likely the cleaning routine, simply re-primes the printhead with ink and allows you to print. When the printer lies idle overnight, the leak is allowing air to be drawn into the nozzles and the ink to return to the cartridge or just drip out.

What sort of system do you have for providing ink? Is it a CIS, basic cartridges, refillables, etc... ?

Any other symptoms, like ink blobs, or black running down too quickly, etc... ?

hi Roy,

Been visiting family so didn't get chance to reply till now... Given that they're refillables, I'm wondering if the outlet port is suffering from one of the following:

1. Air bubbles/foam building up near the printheads inlet.
2. Poor seal in outlet port, allowing ink in outlet port area to migrate down inlet barb (the bit that pokes into the cartridge) and leave air behind

You may find that using something like a pull through adapter or luer slip syringe to draw ink into the outlet, while removing any ink foam could solve the problem... I'm thinking it's more likely a seal issue though which is easily resolved with a new cart.
