Thanks to one of the schools I look after I've been lucky enough to acquire a good 40+ sets* of CLI-8/PGI-5 cartridges (*although only about 10 CLI-8BK's) of empty OEM cartridges and I'm thinking about just adding them as a product on the old Octoink store... but I wanted to ask if anyone thought it would be worth doing.

I'm figuring it's not worth charging for them, just postage and there would be no warranty as I'm not about to flush them but for some folks it might be a useful option to get a set or even a single one to practice on...

If I do charge for anything it'll be the CLI-8BK's and then just donate the proceeds at year end to the Red Cross or something but anyhooo... any point doing it?

Yes, I think it's a good idea. A public service kind of thing. I'm sure they won't last long.

While I haven't looked lately, I wasn't able to come up with any empty OEM carts to use as a backup. Any idea of how much it would be to Post to the states? I might be interested if not too much. I'm thinking of buying some of your SquEasyFill bottles too. Your sets are less expensive than what's quoted in the Squeeze Bottle thread from a US supplier. I wish your site calculated shipping before checking out.

Ok... Think I'll put something together than and see what happens... If it works out I may see about putting some feelers out for more carts, but only if I get some storage space sorted out...

?? It does, you can go to the cart and get a shipping estimate for everything in it...

> Add your items
> Go to "Cart" or "View your cart"
> Click on the "Calculate Shipping & Handling" link near the bottom of the cart
> Input some basic info for country, zip/post code, etc... and you should get an accurate shipping cost.

@Pharmacist:
I can let you have a couple and I have a few CLI-8BK chips that have been pulled off damaged carts too if that's any good..

Ok... You've all persuaded me it's worth doing... I'll add it to my list for the first week of the summer holidays.

I suspect relocating to the USA so I can drop a few recycled carts, would be a little tricky selling to the wife ;)

Martin its a Great idea! I could also use two or three CLI-8BK empties. Would be convenient to order thru Octoinkjet with other needles and caps. Shipping cost would be all inclusive. Will keep watch of the "Store". Regards

Very good, thanks. I was just going by what it says next to Shipping in the item details... "Calculated at checkout". But thanks for the workaround.

I'm going to hold off ordering until you get the empty carts up on your store. I hope your summer holiday isn't too far off.

ROFLMAO...

You forgot my wife's doing the packing so there would be:
- wire wool
- bleach
- a big hat

... and if I took the rest of that stuff, she'd also be packing divorce paper and a solicitors number on speed dial...

So, make that "understanding and prepared" ;)
