Something that popped into my head: Does using compatible cartridges harm printer or print head in anyway?

Let's say someone starts off with original inks
And then uses compatibles for 10 cycles of cartridges

What's the status of the printer now?

Let's say you now switch to using genuine inks now
What happens? Does printing quality go back to the usual best?

Does using compatibles harm the print head in anyway?

I'm sure the answers to this question would help a lot of people

EDIT: I did a search for the question on Google before posting and couldn't find a conclusive answer

Thanks

Omar

The answer is very simple and it goes like this.
The use of compatibles dont usually harm a printer or its print head and if they do
then youll know that they have and not to use them again.

If however then havent then youll know that they dont, is that clear.. :)

Sorry Omar, for been to smutty with my answer but couldnt help myself.

I would however like to say that its not just the compatibles you have to take into
consideration but the ink that goes into them.

Refilling of OEM cartridges is considered by most guys to be more reliable than refilling
of compatible cartridges and are less lightly to let you down..

I agree with The Hat.

If you buy from a no name supplier on ebay for instance it's a shot in the dark.

The OEM carts were made specifically for the printer, and their sponges and design are optimised by the manufacturer.

You can buy empty OEM's on ebay at a decent price, and there are some regular sellers of the empty carts on there.

well to be honest, this was my reasoning for my question in the first place
i can get second hand printers - but some would have been used with compatible printers
so, i just wanted to know if the printer would have been damaged in anyway by the use of compatibles

Print heads can get damaged by using compatibles due to ink flow problems, mainly if the owner isn't paying attention to nozzle checks, but if a used printer can do a perfect nozzle check, maybe after some cleaning, then it has a perfectly good print head. I don't think there is any latent damage from compatibles that will show up later.
