Hi
had an Epson R360. had the problem with it locking up because the overflow inkpad was full. Couldn't fix it. now got the wife's R265. Suspect I will soon get the same problem.

I have a requirement with a printer that it can print direct onto the face of a DVD or CD ( All legal nothing dodgy!!) That kind of limits me to the printer I can use. Would have liked an HP printer but they tell me they don't now make one with that facility.

Can anyone recomend a printer for me that might be suitable. Would be most grateful if anyone has any ideas

All of them! LOL
Most of the Epson Artisan series will print on discs and do it very well and accurately. They have a built in disc tray that is integral. Some others use separate disc trays that have to be inserted and accurately aligned into the front of the printer.

If it is not too much work for you, try to rescue your printers by running the waste ink adjust software.
a lot of good information online and you may find free software to reset it too

like jtoolman said, yes, all Artisan can do Cd/DVD printing directly, but I would only suggest Artisan 50 or 810 or R280 (if it is still available on the market). some one demonstrates the whole tools and procedures of dvd printing on the site, you can follow all his steps with good epson printer

lastly, dont let your inkpad overflow again, get a waste ink kit and direct all the waste ink externally to a bottle, ink republic has it with very cheap price.

for two bottles, 3 tubes, tapes, caps... only 7 dollars can save you from buying a new printer.
