I was all set to buy the RX680 and then I found this forum and started reading as much as I could. After some of what I read here and finding a good deal on the MP970, I'm am left undecided.

Basically, I an unclear on what my ink options are. All of the the different online stores that I've found selling CISS are mostly just for Epson printers. Is there a decent/reliable CISS for the MP970? I think either printer will work well for me, but with the chip issues, I'm not sure which printer offers the easier ink replacement method. At this point, I'm not even sure the CISS works well with the RX680. It's late, I'm tired and I'm confused. I thought it was time I ask for help. :)

My main concern with the RX680 is what I've read about the lack of use creating clogs and the ink usage for cleaning and powering on. So that's when I started considering the MP970. My inability to find a CISS for the MX970 is the current road block. If I understood correctly, there seems to be questions as to whether or not the MP970 will work with compatibles/refilling?

If anybody can point me in the right direction, I could greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

MP970 is definitely a better printer and cheaper for ink supply in the long/short run. But Epson in general is saver in using CISS. When ink feeding is not right it could damage Canon print head but not Epson. It is also harder to install a CISS on a Canon. I believe the potential of damaging the print head is why CISS is not very popular on Canon printers. Another reason may be Canon is really easy to refill.

That makes sense. There seemed to be questions on the newest Epson and Canon printers as to whether or not refills or compatibles would work. I don't have to have a CISS, but it seemed like the most econmical way to go. Since a lot of people here say the MP970 is a better printer, if it works with refills and/or compatibles, I will go ahead and get the Canon.

Can anyone here confirm that refills or compatibiles work with the MP970?

Also, recommendations on where to buy?

Thanks for your help Tin Ho. :)
