Canon ip4300...

Hey Guys I took out an CLI-8M and replaced it with a CLI-8PM and it does not recognize it.
Do i have to tell the software what it is?If so how?
Or do i have to replace them all or does it not work at all?...but Im pretty sure it does!!!
Can anyone Help???

They are two different colors and the chips on them are different. The printer thinks you have put the wrong cartridge in so won't recognise it.

The Photo cartridges can't be used to replace the blue and magenta cartridges. They are used in printers that carry at least 6 cartridges designed for printing photos.
