CANON PIXMA - NO POWER

Hi everyone,
I have a Canon Pixma IP 3600 for 3 years and I have never had any issue with it.
Today, when I tried to turn it on, the green light would not turn on, nothing was happening.
The printer is dead.
Do you know what can I do to check the power?
I checked the wall plugs, there is power in them.
I don't know what else to do and I need this printer badly.

I have a spare power supply. Canon K30304. It is yours for free, as long as you pay all shipping. It appears to be from an iP4600. It might fit, I don't know. Spring cleaning is your luck if it fits.

Look carefully UNDER the cord socket to see if it matches. Ir probably does. The old one will come out with one latch and removal of one connector.

Maybe you can borrow a multimeter to check the output of the power supply.
I've got an extra Canon power supply 16v 2A. It might be suitable. In what region do you live?

I can confirm that the K30304 is the proper power supply for the iP3600. This power supply also fits other printers like iP4600, iP4700, MP620 and probably more models.

The Canon parts number from the parts catalog is QK1-4965-000, so this number
can also be used for a search.

Thank you all. The issue is not the power supply. I got a new one and it is still "dead"
I wish I could look somewhere else but the printer is sealed. NO ways to see what's inside.

I had a Canon i9900 that refused to turn on one day. Power supply tested good. Appears it was a problem "elsewhere" in the printer. Most likely the logic or mother board.

A defective print head and/or logic board can prevent the printer from turning on due to an over current protection. A Canon print head can fail for no apparent reason, and a failed print head can damage the logic board. A logic board that has been damaged by a defective print head can damage a new print head, so replacing the print head is a gamble. I think the cost of a new print head exceeds the value of the printer, so I would not risk a new print head.

To gain access to the print head, when the printer will not turn on, you will have to remove the printer casing. This disassembly instruction for iP4600 for absorber change also applies to the iP3600. It is in German, but here is an English translation.

If you remove the print head and reassemble the printer, and it will now turn on, then you know that the print head is defective, but you don't know if the logic board has also been damaged and will damage a new print head.

Sadly I think that the printer should be considered a total loss

Thank you Peter BJ. I will try to fix it today. I am very much "fixated" on this printer because I can refill the cartridges and rest them. As far as I know there aren't many printers out there that use cartridges that can be re filled and reset. I used this one four thousands of pages. A second problem is that this type is not on the market anymore.

Hello everyone, I have a Canon MP620B that has the same problem, where I was in the middle of printing and suddenly the printer lost power and stopped working, where it wont power back on. Are there any ideas on how I can test the power adapter? It uses the Canon K30304 power adapter. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to find one besides ebay?

craigslist. You can probably find a whole printer for cheap and use it (or your existing one) for parts.
