Canon MX860 Printer Error 5B00

Hello I am new here! While browsing to see this issue I have with a 10 year old printer I came across this forum. Story short it is coming up with 5B00 error. Looking at videos I take these are the small square pads under the ink cartridges?

I came across this thread there (https://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/canon-mx340-inkpad-overflow-error-code.14288/#post-124052) and would like to confirm that this tool will work with the MX860 printer?

No, the ink absorber pads that are full are some pieces of a felt like material placed inside the printer. The small pads the printheads is resting on when parked are the purge pads. They are part of the purge system that cleans the printhead.

The version 3400 of the service tool is perfectly suited for your printer.

Here is another thread about the MX860 and ink absorbers. This post has a link to the service manual and parts catalog in one file. The link still works, I just checked it. Neither AVG Internet security nor Malwarebytes Antimalware found anything wrong in the download.
